A 1937 Canadian 50-cent piece containing .800 fine silver. This issue marks the first year of the updated George VI half-dollar series, featuring the detailed Coat of Arms of Canada on the reverse. These early George VI halves are popular with collectors for their classic design, solid silver content, and strong historical appeal.

The coin shown appears to be in approximately VF (Very Fine) condition based on visible detail in the arms, lettering, and rim — consistent with the “VF20” noted on the holder (grading not guaranteed by McSherry Auction Service).

A solid pre-decimal Canadian silver coin and a desirable piece for both silver collectors and numismatists building a mid-century Canada set. Condition as shown in photos.
